I'm new to the Samsung ecosystem, and noticed that I have Samsung Notes preinstalled on my Note8. Someone posted that a new version of S Note came out, so I downloaded that, but they don't seem to be the same library or database of notes. Which one is the real newer one, or the recommended one? Also, I switched from iCloud to Google when I went from iOS to Android, I've been using Google Keep, which I was glad to see a Google Chrome app that allows me to access them on my Mac. If I were to move again from Google to Samsung, how do I access my Samsung Notes from a Mac? Download this app from Microsoft Store for Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 Team (Surface Hub), HoloLens. See screenshots, read the latest. Also, SyncMate will sync any Android 4.x - 8.x device with your Mac! Originally Answered: Is there a way to sync Samsung Notes (specifically Galaxy S9) with. S-Note was the note taking option used on Note phones prior to the Note7. Samsung Notes was the S-Note replacement that came out starting with the Note7. However, although Samsung Notes was meant to be a replacement, those two were way too different. Samsung Notes is a collection of notes. It's comparable to apps like Google Keep. Essentially, it's a collection of items that are made up of Text, Writing, Drawing, Images, and Sound. However, none of those items could overlap with each other. So you essentially have a list of individual items. So it's good if you want to make a collection of short notes, drawings, and etc. However, it's a far cry from S-Note, due to how powerful S-Note is. Unlike Samsung Notes, S-Note isn't similar to Google Keep at all. You can see it as a competitor to OneNote. It's a notebook, where each page can store any number of text, writing, drawings, and images. All of those options can be overlapped with each other, and there's even options to push certain items in front or behind other items. Here's a video of S-Note prior to Note7 days: So theoretically, they're two separate types of apps. One targeting simple note taking and collecting of said notes. The other targeting users that require heavy and detailed writing use. Personally, I use Samsung Notes only for Screen-Off Memos and as a scrapbook of images. On the other hand, I use S-Note for work-related purposes from lots of writing to drawing out UI designs. Only on S-Note could I do things such as type out some text, then draw a circle around said text. Then draw arrows towards an inserted image. Sadly, Samsung saw the need to replace S-Note with Samsung Notes, so Samsung Notes can read the database for S-Note. But this is purely so you can import in old S-Note files. You can't import Samsung Notes data into S-Note. As for the S-Note update. What people are interested in is Action Memo, which was a feature of S-Note. Action Memo was this very useful notepad. Here's a brief description of it. Essentially, it was useful due to it's Link to Action feature. Sadly, the newest update for S-Note that was released completely removed all support for Action Memo, so it's recommended to use an earlier version. There was a PC version of S-Note but I believe it no longer works. Unsure about Mac support. As far as I know, the apk in that link is the last version that supports Action Memo. Don't forget to turn off Auto-Update on both Play Store and Galaxy Apps. There's really no way to vote for the feature back, since Samsung doesn't offer such an option. Your available options seems to be to: • 1star ratings on Play Store and Galaxy Apps requesting for Action Memo back. • Contact them through their listed email: and hope they'll actually consider it. • Start up a petition. But not much hopes with this one. Honestly, I'm not sure why they purposely removed Action Memo from S-Note without making it sound too much like a conspiracy theory on making users use Samsung Notes more. Though, my best guess, is that it's due to the future direction of SNote. Originally, Action Memo existed inside SNote because SNote was the note-taking app of choice for Note phones, therefore they made Action Memo for users to quickly add notes. But now, SNote lost it's position, so Samsung wanted to keep it purely as something like a Notebook writing app. So they removed Action Memo since it didn't fit into the design of the idea. I mean, it's a great feature, but the way it's implemented didn't fit with the rest of the app, especially when S-Note isn't being used to store notes anymore. So that's my best guess. I'm hoping that the reason they removed it is so they can create a new separate Action Memo app that's built with notes in mind, or it's because they wanted to integrate Action Memo into Samsung Notes, since Samsung Notes has simple note creation as a fundamental feature. Connect the Arduino Board The Arduino Simulator works with a lot of Arduino boards: • Arduino UNO • Arduino Mega • Arduino Nano • Arduino Micro • Arduino Leonardo • Arduino. Only the digital and analog pins that are available on the Simulator can be used! Disconnect the Arduino Simulator before uploading the Arduino code. Upload your custom Arduino code with the corresponding library file Open the Simulator and go to 'Help -> Arduino UNO programming code -> Arduino UNO programming code (Ino). This will open an Arduino (ino) file with the corresponding library and important code in it. Change the original Arduino code In order to let the Simulator understand the code, we have devised our own instructions. To maintain the usability, we have decided to change the current instructions a little bit and replace only the first letter with a capital letter. We have modified the instructions with a point so that the point may be omitted. DigitalWrite (13, HIGH); -> DigitalWrite(13, HIGH); lcd. Print('x'); -> lcdprint('x'); 4. As a free and open-source potable utility that supports Microsoft Windows OS, Rufus could be used to format and create bootable USB flash drive or Live USB. Feb 1, 2016 - We previously showed you how to create a Windows 10 USB. It can take about 20 minutes to format and set up the USB installer on the Mac. My MBA 2012 with OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks won't boot anymore - it simply freezes after the initial jingle. I already tried resetting NVRAM and SMC, but to no avail. I don't have any time machine backups. However, I still have a disc image of Mavericks sitting on an external hard drive, a USB stick and access to a notebook with Windows 7. I haven't yet found any tutorial on how to create a bootable USB drive on Windows in order to reinstall OS X on my beloved Macbook Air. Any help would be greatly appreciated! According to the first answer here,, there's a tool with a free trial called TransMac that can do it. Just make sure the USB drive is formatted with GPT and not MBR. What might be easier, however, is that that model has support for Internet Recovery. If you boot holding Command-R and you have a WiFi connection, it can actually boot into recovery mode without a recovery partition on a drive (or even without a working drive). Having said that, your description of a crash right after the boot chime could signify a more serious hardware problem and you may not be able to boot anything. If you boot holding the option key down, the startup disk selection screen should appear. If it crashes anyways, you may be looking at a hardware problem. I know this question is old but it is still valid. I was never able to write a Mac installer image to my Flash Drive and have it bootable, unless I did it on a Mac. Using Michael D. Dryden's, I was able to use the Diskpart command to clean and prep a GPT partition on a flash drive for an OSX Mavericks install image. I used TransMac on Windows 7 to restore the image file I had to the Flash Drive, it created a bootable Mac image on my flash drive. Someone had reported that the method for using DISKPART did not work, but I have done this twice and it works remarkably well, and it's the only method I could find to create a Mac-Bootable Flash. I've been trying to post this to confirm that it works for some time, I just hope it helps someone else, because it is a very easy solution. Here are the Diskpart commands used to prep the Flash Drive, just to have them here in case my Link does not work: diskpart DISKPART> list disk (Find the disk number) DISKPART> select disk x (from result of List Disk) Disk x is now the selected disk. DISKPART> clean DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk. DISKPART> convert gpt DiskPart successfully converted the selected disk to GPT format. DISKPART> create partition primary Note: I use 'Rufus' for all other USB writing and formatting for Windows systems, it's a great app, but I had previously tried to format the drive as GPT using that, as a Fat32 partition. When I tried to inject the image, Transmac told me that the drive was 'write protected'. So basically, the USB drive cannot have any high level formatting, the Windows system should detect the drive as 'not formatted' for this to work, which it will if prepped right with Diskpart. I had this problem with a friend computer, it was an old iMac and I'll tell you it is not going to be easy. The first thing you have to do is make sure what model you have (the year when your computer has been released) then check on the official apple website to see what is the latest macOS or Mac OS X version available for you computer. In most of the new mac computer, you can just press cmd+r while booting and the mac will automatically download everything you need to install the system, but the oldest does not have this tool. In this case, you have to download the dmg file, that can be found on the web, for example, one websites that provides some macOS and Mac OS X is (for El Capitan, if you need another version, I'm sorry but you have to search for it). Here things start to get a little tricky. First of all you have to flash the image on a USB drive, I recommend etcher, that works on everything (Mac, Linux and Windows too) it's extremely easy to use and you just need to select the drive and the image and etcher will do everything by itself, plus it's free. The installation procedures documented here apply to IDAutomation,. IDAutomation recommends using on the Mac if possible. Solution(s): Expand the ZIP file: After the distribution file (which is in ZIP format) is downloaded and saved on the Mac, it must be expanded or decompressed to see all the font files in the distribution package. There are several Mac programs that can open ZIP files such as the Archive Utility (formally BOM Archive Helper) the default utility or Stuffit Expander available from. Installing TTF TrueType or OTF OpenType fonts on the Mac: • To open the ZIP distribution file, drag the ZIP file onto the Expander icon or right click (ctrl + click) on the zip file, go to open with on the menu and choose the corresponding application. • The contents of the zip file will be extracted and appear in a separate folder. Inside this folder will be an install.exe file, which is for Windows customers and another folder with the same contents as the install application. To make sure that you can see the fonts on different computers, you can either install the new font on the other computers you plan to use, or, if you are using a TrueType font in Word or Microsoft PowerPoint®, you can embed the font to save the characters with your document. It is recommended you use Font Book (included with Mac OS X v10.3 and later) to install, remove, view, organize, validate, enable, and disable fonts. See Mac 101: Font Book for detailed information. If you wish to manually manage fonts instead, see the next section.
Manually managing fonts. Note: Mac OS X has four or more Fonts folders, depending on software installation. Open this folder to view the Windows True Type font files (.ttf files). At this point, view the documentation supplied with the font files by opening the Readme.htm file. • Drag or copy and paste the TTF or OTF font files to the Library/Fonts folder. • To activate the fonts, restart the application – some applications may require a computer restart. • The fonts should now be active in the font menu of the application. • To create the correct output for the font, choose the font in the application. Mac installation with MPKG Download • After the distribution file (which is in ZIP format) is downloaded and saved on the Mac, it must be expanded or decompressed to see all the font files in the distribution package. There are several Mac programs that can open ZIP files such as the Archive Utility (formally BOM Archive Helper) the default utility or Stuffit Expander available from. • To open the ZIP distribution file, drag the ZIP file onto the Expander icon or right click (ctrl + click) on the zip file, go to Open with on the menu and choose the corresponding application. This will reveal the mpkg file or installer package for Mac. • Run the installer package; the fonts will be automatically placed in the Library/Fonts folder and the additional fonts and examples will be located in an IDAutomation [Product Name] folder under the Applications directory. May 23, 2017 - I had a flash drive I tried to format on my dad's MacBook and I had the same problem — it wouldn't let me erase or format the partition. Mar 11, 2012 - If you have an external hard drive or USB flash drive that you'd like to use. If you format your FAT32 drive in Windows, the drive partition cannot be larger than 32GB. It helped me reformat a 32GB SanDisk Cruzer to use exFAT so I. L just bought a new 64gb SONY flash drive and i am unable to use it. There are a number of common issues experienced with SanDisk memory cards and flash drives. We have categorized the usual problems on SanDisk USB flash drives, pen drives, micro SD cards, SDHC cards, and SDXC cards, into two groups corresponding to their solution. These problems can all be solved by either formatting the disk or manually repairing the device from the registry editor. Check which category your problem falls into, then follow the respective guide to get your SanDisk device working again. Common Issues with SanDisk Cards and Flash Drives Category 1 • SanDisk SD card not showing the full capacity. • SanDisk Cruzer 16GB not recognized by camera or phone. • Windows unable to complete the format for a SanDisk removable disk. Category 2 • SanDisk write-protected error in Windows: can't write anything. • SanDisk flash drive is corrupt, inaccessible, unreadable, damaged, or has bad sectors. Category 1 Solution: Format the Disk When facing SanDisk problems similar to the listed entries in the first category, go ahead and download EaseUS Partition Master, the most recommended SanDisk format tool, for a quick fix. Go to EaseUS’s page to learn more details about the software. Category 2 Solution: Fix Write Protection and Corruption Errors via Regedit/Registry For the situations in the second category, simply formatting the disk will likely not be sufficient. Instead, it will require some manual editing of the Registry. Repair a Write-protected SanDisk SD Card or Flash Drive If it's about removing the write protection on a micro SD card, there are three ideas to fix a write-protected SD card, including unlocking the lock switch, toggling the loss lock switch, and changing the lock feature in the mobile device settings. Since a USB flash drive doesn't have a lock switch, you can only try to fix a write-protected USB drive by deleting its associated registry files. This allows the device to be reinstalled by your computer, which will lift the write protection setting. The method to get this done will be laid out in #2, as it will also solve when a computer does not detect the device at all. Repair SanDisk Device Not Detected by a Windows PC The official SanDisk knowledgebase states that a corrupt registry entry can cause your SanDisk product to not be detected by the computer. Removing the registry keys created upon installation of your SanDisk product will allow the computer to fully reinstall the device and may resolve the issue. Back up the registry 1. Unplug the device from the USB port. Windows XP: Go to 'Start' > 'Run', type in regedit and then click 'OK'. May 29, 2016 - インストール. $ brew install lua $ brew install vim --with-lua. 通常はこれで入るはず。 brew は別途インストールする必要があります。. Getting a new Mac (for me invariably a MBP) is bittersweet. It’s nice to have something shiny and powerful, but setup can be tedious—especially if you don’t remember the steps. Every time I go through the process I vow to capture the steps next time. • • • • • • • • • First I change my shell to zsh, for: chsh -s $(which zsh) Then I install and get my zsh configs from. [ NOTE: I actually don’t need to install it because I just copy over my existing repo, which. ] Right after the shell is in order I like to fix. The reason is simple: Vim is used to edit most of the files in later steps, and I can’t stand using vim without my configs in place. Really all I do here is copy over my.vim directory and.vimrc file, which is also in my project. Now I have my shell and vim working. By default, both Bash and Zsh use emacs mode when editing the command line, meaning you use your cursor to move around inside the command you’re typing. I like Vim, so I use its everywhere I can. That includes editing commands I’m typing! Bindkey -v Map escape to work the same way on the command line: bindkey -M viins ‘jk’ vi-cmd-mode Now you can move around in your history, edit commands, etc. All using vim language. [ NOTE: Once again, if you do everything in the Pristine project above, this will already be done for you. ] Homebrew is a package manager for OS X, and I think it’s the best one. You can install it like this: [ NOTE: Remember what I said about running commands from the internet? ] ruby -e '$(curl -fsSL [ NOTE: You need to know what you’re doing before you pipe the internet into your shell. ] Run doctor to make sure you’re in good shape: brew doctor One thing I like to do is get OS X using GNU versions of common tools instead of the default BSD versions. We’ll do this using Homebrew. The Basics RELATED: Homebrew is a package manager designed for installing UNIX tools and other open-source applications on Mac OS X. It will quickly download and install them, compiling them from source. Homebrew Cask extends Homebrew with support for installing binary apps — the kind you normally drag to your Applications folder from DMG files. Install Homebrew and Homebrew Cask First, you’ll need the command-line tools for Xcode installed. On a modern Mac OS X system, you can install these just by running the following command in a Terminal window. You could also install the full application from Apple, if you prefer — but that takes up more space on your Mac and isn’t necessary. Xcode-select --install Next, install. You can just open a Terminal window, copy-paste the following command, and press Enter: ruby -e '$(curl -fsSL This script informs you what it will do. Press Enter and then provide your password to install it. By default, it installs Homebrew so you can use the brew command without typing the sudo command and providing your password. Run the following command once you’re done to ensure Homebrew is installed and working properly: brew doctor UPDATE: The below command is no longer necessary. Homebrew Cask is now automatically installed as part of Homebrew itself. Once you’re done, run the following command to install. It uses Homebrew to install Cask: brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask. Install Graphical Apps With Homebrew Cask Now you can get started installing those graphical apps you want. This involves some very simple commands. To search for one, use the following command: brew cask search name To install an app, run the following command. Homebrew Cask will automatically download it, extract the app, and install it to your Applications folder. Brew cask install name To uninstall an app with Homebrew Cask, run the following command: brew cask uninstall name Install Open-source Utilities With Homebrew The Homebrew command is the underlying package manager that installs all those UNIX and open-source utilities you might want. It’s the easiest way to install them on Mac OS X, just as it is on Linux. Like Homebrew Cask, it uses simple commands. To search for a utility: brew search name To download and install that package: brew install name To remove that package from your system later: brew remove name For more details on using these commands, read the or the on their official websites. Not every graphical application or Unix utility you’re looking for will be available, but most of them probably will be. Nov 29, 2016 The wallpapers in the latest versions of MacOS Sierra and iOS 10.2 are quite a bit different from the Sierra default wallpaper of a mountain range or the wave iOS 10 default wallpaper, but look quite nice. Jun 15, 2016 Download the MacOS Sierra Default Wallpaper. When Apple debuted macOS Sierra to the world, we all got a glimpse at the gorgeous wallpaper of a sunset alpenglow hitting a mountain range on the screens of the demo Mac. Over the weekend, Reddit user shared photo albums containing archives of all of the different wallpapers that Apple has offered for iOS and macOS, providing an interesting trip down memory lane. There are two separate Google Photos albums for and, with images dating back multiple years. The iOS album, for example, contains wallpapers from iOS 3 and beyond, along with promotional images Apple has used for advertising purposes, images from WWDC and special events, and more. The macOS album features wallpapers dating back to System 7, with images from Mac OS 9, all the versions of OS X, and more modern wallpapers from the newer versions of the Mac operating system. Event wallpapers, such as those used for the 2017 iMac and the 2017 MacBook Pro, are also available. As pointed out this morning, this is an excellent collection of wallpapers that's worth checking out if you want to revisit (and use) some of Apple's past wallpaper options. |
